About the Proprietor

Brand, Marketing and Messaging Strategist

Hi, my name is Andy Bartling. I’m not quite sure how this happened, but I’ve been a corporate writer for nearly 30 years now. It’s as if I went out to get the paper one morning and never quite found my way back home. There’s just too much to see. Too much to do.

To be a successful corporate writer today, it pays to be a bit discursive. Everything about the companies you work for should interest you. And it’s okay to move quickly from one attraction to the next. See something shiny? Reach for it. That’s where the fun is.

But not everyone sees it that way these days. Too much recession, too many layoffs, too much work for those who are left, too little time to do it all.

Well, I don’t buy in to the gloom. I’ve worked through three recessions in the past 30 years. And this last one has handed us all the opportunity of our careers.

Organizations large and small need good thinking now more than ever before. A good writer can help. A great writer can lead. So, which are you?

I don’t pretend to be either. I’m too busy looking for the next thing that interests me. I’ve begun to collect them all in a single place that I call Corporate Writer Insider.

Funny, it’s not very ‘corporate.’  I wouldn’t suggest its format or tone for any of my Fortune 500 clients. But I do think it’s going to be a great way to engage with the thousands of corporate writers out there who want to discover a little, share a little–and have fun a little (unless you’re on company time, of course).

I hope you’ll join me here often. And if you want to hear more about my background, please join me on Linked In.
